The community supports us with gifts, which we give back by investing in programs that help our community thrive. By partnering with regional nonprofit organizations, our resources—YOUR resources—enable us to do good things in Northwest Ottawa County.
Our grantmaking focuses on five priority areas:
Arts, Culture & Diversity
A collection of people makes up a town, but it takes art to make it a community. We support organizations and projects that bring artistic, cultural, and diverse opportunities to the region.
Examples: Tri-Cities Museum’s Community Archive and Research Center, Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance’s Racial Equity for NW Ottawa County programming
Economic & Community Betterment
We believe that vital and energetic area of commerce are important to all Northwest Ottawa County residents. By partnering with organizations that contribute to the economic growth and revitalization of the community, we aim to increase cooperation among municipalities, especially in recreation, transportation, and planning.
Examples: Robinson Township Park baseball field upgrades, City of Grand Haven’s Neighborhood Housing Services
Environment
It goes without saying that the environment is an important part of the community. Grants dedicated toward preserving the environment ensure that our natural resources and waterways will be here for generations to come.
Examples: West Michigan Education Action Council’s Zero Waste in Landfill program, Ottawa County Spoonville Trail
Education
There’s no question that a good education is the foundation for a bright future. We support programs that ensure students have access to the resources necessary to reach their full potential.
Examples: Kindergarten Summer Enrichment Program at Jeffers Elementary School, GHAPS’ ALEKS Math Support Program
Health & Human Services
Good health is vital to a strong community. We focus on programs that address the critical needs of the most vulnerable members of our community, as well as those that promote healthy relationships and lifestyles for youth, adults, and older adults.
Examples: Horses for Heroes at Out Side In, Love in Action’s Free Dental Clinic.
