Call for Entries for Facebook Mini-Grants
We’re hosting another round of Facebook mini-grants! We’re giving away three mini-grants — completely on Facebook. Nonprofits submit a photo and 200-word description of how they’d use the money, we post an album of all the entrants on Facebook, then the public votes. The three organizations with the most ‘likes’ win!

Excellence in Education 2018

Guest Post: Dismantling Barriers and Advancing Equity
Twenty-two years ago, the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance (LEDA), was founded with a straightforward vision: to boldly work toward the complete eradication of racism in Ottawa County. Though this task has not always been easy, LEDA has continued to pursue this vision through the building of several diversity education programs.
Spark Tank: A Step Toward Youth Empowerment
The Spark Tank program challenged students to take a look at how to make their school a better place. While it started with a simple question, we could quickly see that it became much more than that to the students. The process itself inspired the students to take action and look at things critically.
Thank You to Exiting Board Members
Each May, new community members are invited to join our Board of Trustees, which means we must also say farewell to those retiring from their service. This year, two amazing women have reached the end of their terms: Monica Verplank and Kim Zevalkink.
