2017-18 Youth Advisory Council

The school year’s just begun, but the 2017-18 Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is already in full swing. Six new members joined 14 returning members, and they represent Grand Haven, Spring Lake, and West Michigan Christian High Schools. YAC members meet during the school year to discuss and assess youth issues prevalent in the community, as well as to review grant proposals made to benefit youth in the community.

Save the Catwalk Challenge Match

Starting August 21, the Save the Catwalk Fund has a challenge grant from an anonymous donor who has pledged to match donations to the Save the Catwalk Fund August 21-27, 2017, up to $5,000.

Facebook Mini-Grant Winners

Last month we announced that we were giving away three $500 mini-grants on Facebook, and 2400 likes later, we have the winners! While there were fewer entrants this time around, the online participation was higher than in the previous two rounds, with several photos getting over 500 likes.

The GHACF has once again been ranked among the top community foundations in the nation, according to the 2016 CF Insights survey. The survey compiled data from participating community foundations across the nation and acts as “the annual census of the community foundation field.”

Celebrating Academic Success
