Holly Cole
Vice President of Grants and ProgramWhat do you do at the GHACF?
As the Vice President of Grants and Program, I have the opportunity to lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of the Foundation’s comprehensive competitive grants program. In addition, I support the grantmaking initiatives of our committee-advised funds and affiliate foundations.
I also have the privilege of overseeing the Foundation’s educational initiatives, including the Tri-Cities College Access Network (TCAN) and our competitive scholarship program.
How long have you been with the GHACF?
I joined the team in June of 2017.
Why do you work at the GHACF?
Growing up in the Tri-Cities was an absolute gift. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to give back to our community and to all those that live, visit, and work here.
Education & Experience
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Human Development and Social Relations from Kalamazoo College and a Master of Public Administration, with a focus on non-profit management, from Grand Valley State University. Throughout the last decade, I’ve had the opportunity to work and lead within a variety of nonprofit settings focused on everything from education to hunger and homelessness, but they’ve all had one thing in common – strategy and impact.
Do you have a leisure activity or hobby?
As many Michiganders do, I love to spend as much time as possible outside. On rainy, or below wind-chill days, you might find me reading – memoirs are a favorite. My husband John and I stay busy with our two pups. We love to fill our time hiking, boating, and lounging at the beach.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
After spending my childhood avoiding the dreaded “timed mile” in gym class, I discovered that I love running! Well, mostly I love the moment after you cross the finish line!
