Trevor Shaw

Grants & Program Associate
What do you do at the GHACF?

As a member of the Grants & Program team, I support our for-impact partners by maintaining and executing the various processes for our Competitive Grant and Scholarship Programs. Additionally, I provide professional assistance in due diligence and administrative support.

How long have you been with the GHACF?

I joined Grand Haven Area Community Foundation in May of 2025.

Why do you work at the GHACF?

Since high school, I have been interested in the impact that governmental and non-profit organizations have on our communities, and how we might make that impact as meaningful and positive as possible. After finishing college and exploring professional spheres, this interest evolved into a passion. I want to contribute to the success of programs that improve people’s lives and strengthen the support that they can find in their communities. GHACF’s role in realizing the goals of our for-impact partners is critical in that journey and I am honored to be a part of it.

Education & Experience

I received my Bachelor of Arts from Grand Valley State University where I majored in Classics and Political Science.

Do you have a leisure activity or hobby?

I enjoy spending time with my wife, close friends, and family. One of my favorite hobbies is to engage in collective storytelling by playing tabletop roleplaying games. I also enjoy exercise, martial arts, and video games.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I almost pursued equestrian studies in college to become a professional equine trainer. My first experience was at age 15 where I saddle-broke my mule to compete in both Western and English equitation classes. I continued to train horses and mules throughout high school.
