Hadley Streng

President
What do you do at the GHACF?

I work closely with the Board of Trustees and am responsible for ensuring the Foundation’s strategic, fiscal day-to-day operations, donor development & advancement, marketing & communications, talent, and grantmaking efforts are effectively integrated and managed. I work to form and lead community partnerships with “for-impact” organizations and develop programmatic strategies that address regional priorities that are implemented across all segments of the organization, and throughout the community and region.

How long have you been with the GHACF?

I joined the team in October of 2018.

Why do you work at the GHACF?

In high school I was given the opportunity to help create what is now known as the Youth Advisory Council of the GHACF. The experience not only taught me about philanthropy and how community foundations can impact their community, but eventually led me to seek a role with a mission-oriented organization. I’m thrilled to be leading and supporting the amazing team at the GHACF.

Education & Experience

After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Statistics from Miami University in Ohio, I joined a public accounting firm in their consulting division. They provided me with the opportunity to obtain my Master of Business Administration from the Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia. In an effort to work with nonprofits, I joined another consulting firm in their Higher Education and Healthcare practice. Spending the first ten years of my professional career in consulting provided me exposure to a variety of businesses and organizations, as well as many different business functions.

I later joined strategic planning department of a health system. In addition to strategic planning and business development, I eventually oversaw community affairs, marketing and communications, physician and corporate outreach, and their foundation.

Do you have a leisure activity or hobby?

I love to spend time outdoors – and in West Michigan that gives the opportunity for a lot of variety like going for hikes, trips to the beach, and snow skiing. I live in Grand Haven with my husband and three children.

What’s something most people don’t know about you?

I received my private pilot’s license in college.
