What do you do at the GHACF?
I’m responsible for connecting with our for-impact partners and supporting them through our community grant processes. I also support the Allendale Community Foundation and Coopersville Area Community Foundation in their work as affiliates of the GHACF, helping them provide strategic impact specific to the needs of those communities.
How long have you been with the GHACF?
I joined the team in October 2025.
Why do you work at the GHACF?
I’ve always been passionate about supporting community organizations and non-profits, and am excited to continue that work in my role with the GHACF. In my personal and professional experience, I’ve seen the immense impact that can be made through philanthropy when those with the greatest gifts are able to connect with the greatest needs of a community. I’m honored to be able to play my own role in making those connections through this position and to continue growing the impact we can have in the Tri-Cities area.
Education & Experience
I completed a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies at DePaul University and completed a Master of Arts in Political Science at the University of Illinois at Springfield. I’ve had the opportunity to serve in a number of administrative and programmatic roles in my career, including at the Serve Illinois Commission, Calvin University, and Hope College.
Do you have a leisure activity or hobby?
I’m an active bassist with a number of groups across West Michigan, primarily with the Holland Symphony Orchestra and the Holland Concert Jazz Orchestra (where I also serve as a board member). I also enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling with my wife, and cozying up with a good book.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I’m a pretty big Arsenal FC fan and was lucky enough to attend a home game on a family trip to London a few years ago.
