Applications for the Youth Advisory Council

Students who will be in 10th grade or above in the fall, with an interest and awareness of issues and concerns in the youth community and the broader community, are invited to apply in the spring of the year. There are a limited number of open seats on the Council. All submitted applications are reviewed through a fair and neutral process. A Committee of YAC members seeks to encure a cross section of youth membership by gender, age, and school. Additionally, applicants are ranked with regard to their interest, thoughtfulness in responses, and potential for leadership. Selected applicants will be invited to interview for a position on the Council. A link will appear here for the application process in the spring of each year.

Youth Advisory Council
From its inception in 1991, the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) has helped to seed, nurture and grow hundreds of youth serving organizations in the Tri-Cities. Since 1991 almost $1 million has been granted to nonprofit programs meeting the needs of area youth. Each year the YAC engages approximately 20 teens from each of the local high schools and gives them direct experience in grantmaking. In so doing, the YAC cultivates leadership and problem-solving skills among its members and lays the groundwork for them to become tomorrow's philanthropists and civic leaders.

For good. For ever.
